The New Village Tea Rooms is a favourite both with locals and visitors alike who comment on the aroma, the flavours and the choices. We have created a lovely environment in which to enjoy the delights of our menu and know that once you have sampled from it, you will return for more. From cream teas served as they should be to rich chicken and broccoli bake, the flavours are wholesome and delicious. We are noted for many dishes, amongst them, Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Sticky Toffee Pudding from its reputed birthplace is a unique dish of unrivalled flavour. The legend of its origin is a hard one to trace, with everybody from the Scottish to the Australians taking credit for a version of this tasty dish. Yet here in the Lake District we make the most valid claim of all. Sticky Toffee Pudding is a traditional British dessert, wickedly delicious, warm, sticky and sweet. It consists of a light, moist cake flavoured with dates, which is then topped with a decadent sticky toffee sauce. It can be now found throughout the world, everywhere from the humblest inn to the finest restaurants, yet it is here in its birthplace that it truly has to be enjoyed at its best. With an age old recipe, we work to produce the perfect sticky toffee pudding that draws back connoisseurs time after time for a further helping.

A variation of our own is our equally delectable Chocolate Orange Pudding that simply has to be tasted to be believed. Although we are on walkers and cyclists trails, we don’t recommend the consumption of our puddings before exercise!

Sandwiches, pies, ready meals to take away and fresh produce are also available.

This area of outstanding beauty and the wonderful village of Orton are the perfect home for our tea rooms. The view from the windows, the fresh air and the people help to make your experience unforgettable.
